Look to Jesus – Eyes on Jesus
Church can be a fun, funny and sometimes frightening place. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Do not let religion misrepresent God, spoil your soul, contaminate your heart and mind, or mislead you as to the Person, heart and nature of Almighty God your heavenly Father. Most certainly God is love (1John 4:8). Yet, love can be expressed and shown in different ways. Some show love by acts of service, others words of affirmation, others physical touch and others by quality time spent. Likewise, people define God differently and have different expectations from the living God and those who claim to represent their heavenly Father and Christ Jesus the Savior.
Therefore, I urge people to keep their eyes on Jesus and look to Jesus rather than His ministers, who are subject to failure, limited by their own humanity, dwell in flesh and blood being sometimes carnal, and also get physically tired and weary. Sheep follow the shepherd if they want to remain safe, be comforted and well fed. Sheep that follow other sheep sometimes walk in manure and get defiled by stepping therein. Likewise manure attracts flies.
It is important therefore to follow Jesus, the chief Shepherd, not His disciples and ministers who fail, error, make mistakes, misrepresent Him and thereby mislead people who have taken their heart and eyes off Jesus. Keep your eyes on Jesus to remain secure. Look to Jesus for provision, help in your time of need, and divine direction.
