Communion and the Blood of Jesus

Jesus before His crucifixion took communion with His disciples, together partaking of the wine and bread. The wine represents the blood of Jesus, whereas the bread Christ’s body. The blood of Jesus cleanses us, whereas the body of Christ enriches us. The body of Christ is His Church with whom when we are joined and attached, the joints and members will supply and enrich us. Jesus is the life and the resurrection. Jesus is the bread of life, Christ being the Word of God made flesh among us (John 1:1,14).

When I applied to Brigham Young University Law School they asked me to get a bishop’s reference at a local Latter Day Saints Church. Although I am not a Mormon, I attended the LDS church one or two services to meet the bishop and church leadership. When I watched communion being taken, I was surprised to witness that the blood of Jesus when taking in communion (so as to bring disciples in remembrance of the crucified Christ) was neither wine, nor grape juice. Instead the LDS congregation takes water for communion.

Yet the Bible says: “The life of the flesh is in the blood, which God has given to make an atonement for our souls” (Leviticus 17:11). Thus watering down the blood of Christ and the cup of communion is the height of religiosity (man’s attempt to draw near to God with his own methods and efforts, while disregarding God’s path and protocol). Religion always disappoints people and leaves them empty inside.

As the author of “God vs. Religion: Liberated to Love and Live” I know the difference between man’s traditions which nullify the Word of God (Mark 7:13). Religion’s efforts and traditions do not release the Spirit of life to heal, restore, renew humanity. The Spirit of God however awakens humanity to the Word of God and moves them in a specific direction to fulfill the will of God.

Commune with Jesus and the blood of Jesus will be recognized, honored, brought to the forefront, exalted, uplifted and enable you to liberate humanity from dead religion and vile devils. The blood of Jesus and blessed Holy Spirit will purge your conscience to worship and serve the living God (Hebrews 9:14). Jesus told His disciples to take communion in remembrance of Him (Luke 22:19; 1Corinthians 11:24-25) with the cup of wine (or grape juice) symbolizing the blood of Christ and the bread (symbolizing the Word of God and body of Christ). Jesus will come, manifest among us, empower and commune with us to experience His Presence and do the will of God as often as we come together in remembrance of Him.

Take the blessed sacrament (bread and cup of grape juice) in remembrance of our wonderful Savior Jesus. Taste and see the Lord our God is good.
